Goodwill graduate

The GoodGuidesTM Youth Mentoring Program of Goodwill Omaha is part of a national initiative by Goodwill Industries International, funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The program is designed to divert youth from the juvenile justice system and support them in making positive choices, contributing to the community, and exploring healthy career choices.

Reasons to volunteer:

  • Requires only 4 hours of your time per month!
  • Great way to get experience in the field of social work!
  • You will be trained and given all tools necessary to be an effective mentor!
  • Looks great on a resume!
  • You could have used a mentor to look up to when you were young!
  • Today’s young people need positive role models more then ever…this means you!

Types of Mentoring needed: GoodGuides mentors can mentor youth in a one-on-one relationship with oneor more young people, mentor as a group, work with small groups of young people (five or less), or serve as a peer mentor (be a young person who has turned her or his life around who wants to give back).
