Hall of Fame

We recognized our 2010 Hall of Fame Inductees, James L. Mounce, Joseph T. Sullivan, Jr., and James A. Swoopes, at a ceremony on April 28, 2010.

JIM MOUNCE

Jim Mounce joined Goodwill’s Board of Trustees in August of 1986 and served as Board Chair 1990 - 1991. Jim served as Chairman for a variety of committees over the years including the Delegate Assembly and the Goodwill Golf Classic.

In 1989, Jim established the Woodmen/Goodwill Donation Drive. Twenty one years later this donation drive has become one of Goodwill’s most successful events. Goodwill has also been a recipient of Woodmen’s In Honor and Remembrance flag pole donation and dedication ceremony since 1999.

Jim resigned from the Goodwill Board in 2008 and was named a Life Member in 2009. He is currently Co-Chair of the Building Hope…it’s Everyone’s Job Capital Campaign

JOE SULLIVAN

Joe Sullivan was with Norwest Bank when he joined Goodwill’s Board of Trustees in 1987. It was due to Joe’s father’s involvement with Goodwill in the 1970’s that he had an understanding of the agency’s mission of helping others. He knew the organization was a worthy cause. He served as the Chairman of the Board from 1992 - 1993. In the mid-90’s he helped direct Goodwill into a successful Capital Campaign by serving on the Executive Committee.

Joe resigned from the Goodwill Board in 2003 and was named a Life Member in 2004. Joe is currently a member of the Campaign Cabinet for Goodwill’s current Capital Campaign, Building Hope. It’s Everyone’s Job.

JAMES SWOOPES

Jim Swoopes served in the United States Air Force from 1954 – 1978 achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He joined Goodwill’s Board of Trustees in 1989 at the advice and urging of his good friend and Life Member Charlie Wilscam. Jim served as president of the Goodwill Board from 1994 – 1995.

Jim resigned from the Goodwill Board in 2000, and retired from First National Bank in 2005. He has remained active with Goodwill as a Life member since 2001. Goodwill continues to partner with First National Bank through special events like the Goodwill Golf Classic.
