Goodwill Omaha received the coveted Integrity Award from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on October 9th. The Integrity Awards are presented each year to companies and agencies whose practices and activities characterize the values of honesty, commitment and accountability.

The award focuses on ethics, not growth, and practices, not profitability. Goodwill was honored to be recognized because integrity is behind everything the agency does.

How could this award be an even greater honor? It is the second time Goodwill has received the recognition in just four years, and it was the first time a non-profit has won the award twice.

Goodwill Industries President and CEO Frank McGree told the crowd at the Integrity Awards ceremony that Goodwill was founded on the principle of “Not charity, but a chance,” and each day it strives to meet its mission of changing lives and strengthening communities through education, training and work.

“We firmly believe we have a strong ethics policy, and so, since winning the BBB Integrity Award in 2008, we have worked more diligently to effectively communicate this on an agency-wide basis,” McGree said. “Goodwill believes that honesty, respect for every individual and responsibility must guide our actions and relationships with our employees, participants, customers, and business supporters. These principles form the basis of how we approach our work.”

The Integrity award is another great way of celebrating the 80 years of service Goodwill has given to Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa.

  • This is truly an inspirational company. I have gone to the banquet dinners and you can see on the employees faces how much the Goodwill means to them. It’a an opportunity for them to self-sufficient and be proud of their accomplishments. A well-deserved reward
