#ThriftyThursday – Omaha Fashion Week

On Tuesday, Goodwill was excited to participate in Omaha Fashion Week.  We had four platforms during the OFW pre-party.  Models sported some awesome Goodwill looks on ready-to-wear night.  On today’s #ThirftyThursday, we’re going to highlight a few of these outfits.

Our first look came from Goodwill’s store at 180th and Q Streets.  The ruffle tuile skirt from Fossil and the Express blouse were only $3.59 each, making the outfit $7.18.

Next, we brought out a cute and comfy outfit.  The plaid flannel Buckle shirt was $3.49, black cami was $1.99, and the jeans were $3.59.  This whole outfit was $9.17!

These last three looks are all perfect for work.  On the left, our model wore a black knit Mossimo dress, Club Monaco blazer, and a brand new purple jewel necklace, originally from Macy’s.  Her outfit was only $14.07.

On the top right, this three-piece outfit consisted of a super cute menswear-inspired Bebe blazer for $5.49, a white lace tank top from Holliset for $1.99, and detailed Gap dress pants.  The whole outfit only cost $11.07.

On the bottom right, the model wore a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta blouse with a grey Lena Gabrielle midi skirt.  Both were $3.59, making the total cost of her outfit $7.18.

Thanks to Omaha Fashion Week for having us participate again this year.  We had a blast!  Happy Goodwill fashion shopping.

#ThriftyThursday – back to school!

Back to school shopping is expensive and time-consuming.  As a parent, you are often going store-to-store looking for the right name brands, the cool styles and the best bargains for all of your kids.  Well, look no further – Goodwill is here!

I recently stopped at the Goodwill at 180th & Q and found some really awesome deals on cute clothes for an elementary school-aged girl.  These fourteen items would make the perfect back to school wardrobe.  Boom.  You could be done shopping in just one trip.

TT - back to school

As always, the best part about Goodwill is the price.  And this #ThriftyThursday, we’re going to do things a little differently.  It’s contest time!

Comment on this page or on our Facebook status the amount you think all 14 of these items combined cost (before tax) and we’ll help you go back to school with a $20 Goodwill gift card.  Price is Right rules here – must be closest without going over.

Good guess everyone!

2014 Goodwill Cardholder Survey Results!

Goodwillsurveyresults

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to our yearly review of the Annual Goodwill Cardholder Survey. Once a year we send out a survey to everyone on our mailing list. What is a Goodwill Card? Excellent question.

Here’s the answer: The Goodwill Card is our little multipurpose tool for shoppers and donors. It’s able to keep track of donor records (no more saving donation receipts). It provides discounts for senior citizens, military members, students and teachers.

How do you get on our mailing list? By including your e-mail address when you sign up allows us to keep you informed of any special promotions and offers throughout the year. If you don’t have a Goodwill card we highly encourage you to get one.  You can sign up for a Goodwill card at any of our stores in the Greater Omaha Metro.

Now then, back to the survey. We sent it to about 16,000 Goodwill Cardholders, and nearly 1,000 responded. We entered all of those folks into a drawing for a $100 Goodwill gift card, and Laurie K. of Omaha was selected as our winner.  Congratulations Laurie!

Here are some highlights of what we learned from the survey this year:
