Christine Heppermann is our February 2022 Employee of the Month

Christine Heppermann

It is a great pleasure to announce that Goodwill Omaha’s February 2022 employee of the month is Christine Heppermann! Christine joined the Goodwill family in August 2021 as the YouthBuild construction instructor at the Benson Park administration office.

Here is what the nominator shared about Christine and why they felt she deserves this award:

Chris has been an amazing blessing to the YouthBuild team. Her dedication and focus to the youth we serve is clear. Sometimes I love just standing at the window of her classroom and observing her interactions with students, and it’s always a delight to see her sitting at a table offering some one-on-one advice and service.

“Chris always acts with the highest integrity, if she has an issue, she makes sure to pull an individual to the side and address it one-on-one, if she is unsure of how to handle a situation, she has honest and open conversations with her peers to address the struggle.

“Chris is very dedicated to the youth we serve, and you can clearly see her passion for her work every day in her smile.

“The last month has been very challenging for me personally due to some health concerns. Chris has been a godsend for me, always making sure that I am comfortable and ok, she has completely gone above and beyond in the most unobtrusive ways to assist me in my workload and making sure the youth are not falling behind while I was out of the office and then working my way back up to being able to work full time. This situation would have been so much more difficult and stressful for me were I not able to know the youth we serve were in such dedicated and caring hands, and that allowed me to focus on my recovery and not stress about what they were missing when I was not able to perform at 100%. Chris absolutely stepped up in a big way, assisting in coordinating our Opera Omaha field trip, helping to bring opera artists in to the classroom, and just providing a general positive and amazing work environment. I couldn’t imagine our team without her. Chris truly represents the best of Goodwill and YouthBuild.”

Christine will receive eight hours of paid time off plus pizza and cake for her location — and she’s now a nominee for the 2022 Goodwill Omaha Employee of the Year award.

Congratulations, Christine, and thank you for all your hard work and dedication to Goodwill. Your Goodwill family very much appreciates everything you do.
